MICHAUNG CYCLONE
Michaung cyclone caused many parts of Chennai to flood. People struck in their homes and were saved by Neighbour hood Fishermans boat at Velachery, Tansi Nagar and Injambakkam, bethel Nagar. Many peoples were moved to their native and relief shelters. Destroying the water bodies was the main reason for the city to be flooded.
Relief materials were sent from various districts of Tamil Nadu to the affected areas. Various NGOs, religious and volunteer groups helped in the relief effort. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. K. Stalin announced a relief of ₹5 lakh for families of those who lost their lives. A relief package worth ₹6,000 was announced to be distributed through Public Distribution System (PDS) outlets for those who were impacted by the cyclone.
